Home health aides are prepared to devote their knowledge, time, and talents to caring for patients with chronic illnesses, severe disabilities, the elderly, and anyone who needs ongoing care.
The training home health aides receive enables them to be qualified to perform routine clinical and health-related tasks, as well as personal tasks that help the patient live as independently as possible.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will also be able to assist patients with exercises or therapy, prepare meals, dress, bathe, provide first aid for minor injuries, assist with bathroom use, accompany patients during doctor visits and during trips outside the home, performing light cleaning tasks.
Home health aides will be trained to perform a wide variety of activities among the most frequent during their daily routine: administer prescribed medications, take and monitor vital signs, inform the doctor or nurse about the patient's condition.
