San Ignacio University, Miami, Florida, USA

San Ignacio University is the first Peruvian educational institution to obtain the required certification and accreditation to operate in the United States.


We are licensed by the Florida Department of Education’s Commission for Independent Education (www.fldoe.org) and are located in the beautiful city of Doral in Miami.  San Ignacio University shapes professionals who are socially responsible, have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, are goal oriented, have a global perspective of their field and are able to work as members of teams.

San Ignacio University offers its students a number of cultural activities, including visits to the Port of Miami, the Miami World Trade Center and Disney World, among other activities, as well as conferences led by local and international academic personalities.
San Ignacio University has important international partnerships with prestigious institutions such as Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima, Peru; Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France; Escuela de Hostelería Hofmann in Barcelona, Spain; and École Lenôtre, ISC Business School, and ESG Business School in Paris, France.



The entrepreneurial spirit of our founding president and former vice president of Peru, Raúl Diez Canseco Terry, led him to found the San Ignacio de Loyola Education Organization nearly fifty years ago.
Today, our organization provides high quality education with a global perspective, from the preschool level through graduate school. Our educational model is based on four strategic pillars: entrepreneurship, development, globalization and social responsibility.

Institutional Expansion



  • Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL)

The headquarters of our organization is at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) in the city of Lima, Peru. USIL also has academic extension centers in the Peruvian cities of Cusco and Arequipa.

Its management and competence-based education model, in addition to mastery of the English language, make USIL graduates competitive professionals in the demanding job market, with a focus on social responsibility and the ability to work either in Peru or abroad.

Through its eight colleges (Business; Hospitality Management, Tourism Administration & Gastronomy; Health Sciences; Architecture & Urban planning; Engineering; Law; Humanities; and Education) and 35 degree programs, the competence-based education model places priority on excellence and focuses on developing a culture of assessment, innovation and continuous improvement.

In addition, this model provides a solid foundation in social responsibility, as well as ethical and moral principles, with the objective of generating and executing creative, productive, technical and social proposals that contribute to the country’s sustainable development.

  • USIL Graduate School

In order to complement our student's education, the USIL Graduate School offers master’s degrees and specialization programs for the development of leaders, managers and specialists seeking to generate maximum economic and social value in the organizations where they work. Our Graduate School has the support of a top-notch faculty with high-level degrees.


  • USIL School of Culinary Arts

Committed to the cultural development of Peru, the USIL School of Culinary Arts fosters the dissemination of the country’s rich culinary tradition. In its classrooms, Peruvian and international students learn the most advanced international culinary knowledge and techniques, at a school with the latest generation infrastructure.

During their final semesters, students are able to do internships at Don Ignacio Restaurant, where they learn every aspect of running a restaurant by working in the kitchen, purchasing, customer service, bar, administration and serving areas.


  • Entrepreneurship Institute

Aware that the education of properly trained technicians is fundamental to a country’s development, the San Ignacio de Loyola Organization has the Entrepreneurship Institute, which produces first-class technical professionals in business administration, hospitality, and computer science and information technology. The Entrepreneurship Institute provides highly competitive, high quality education, with sound moral values.


  • San Ignacio de Recalde School

San Ignacio de Recalde School is our organization’s basic education institution for the new generations. At San Ignacio de Recalde School, from the time they are very small, students are aware of their surroundings. In addition to the curriculum, they participate in complementary education programs that help them develop and discover their talent and potential.


  • Coloring Dreams

The first Coloring Dreams early stimulation center in Lima opened recently, with the mission of ensuring children’s optimum physical, intellectual, emotional and social development from the prenatal stage through 5 years of age. Its modern Bright Modules curriculum is characterized by showing respect for children in all of their dimensions and seeking their full development as persons from the time of conception. Coloring Dreams offers personalized attention in comfortable, cheerful spaces specially designed to stimulate children and favor every area of their growth. Coloring Dreams has another location in Miami, Florida, USA.


  • Dual Degree Program

Students in the Dual Degree Program obtain two bachelors degrees: one local and another one from San Ignacio University. Students attend classes in the local language at their local university. The courses follow a North American curriculum and are taught by instructors with the academic qualifications required by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).


  • Center for Global Education (CGE)

With a global vision of the education and training of professionals at the highest level, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) presents the CGE, the first and only center of its kind in Peru.

The center offers students the opportunity to achieve their academic and professional goals by earning degrees from strategic partner institutions such as the University of London, the University of South Florida, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Houston while attending USIL in Peru.





  • San Ignacio de Loyola School

Founded in 1993 in Asuncion, Paraguay, San Ignacio de Loyola School is an innovative educational institution for preschool-age children through secondary school students, who are able to earn technical and scientific diplomas.
The San Ignacio de Loyola School educational model develops leadership skills and an entrepreneurial spirit in children and young people, with excellent, bilingual technical and scientific education. We shape citizens with strong human values who are prepared to succeed in the globalized world.


  • Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola

Also in Asuncion, a branch of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola recently opened, with innovative curricula in line with international standards. In partnership with San Ignacio University in Miami, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Asuncion offers students the opportunity to earn dual degrees.




The BISU-USIL Peruvian Center for Latin American Studies came to be as the result of cooperation relations between Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (Peru) and Beijing International Studies University (China). Its purpose is to foster and disseminate Latin American culture and education, strengthening ties of friendship and integration between continents. It also serves as a place to study and disseminate Latin culture through different types of intercultural activities.
